Awara Onsen boasts a history of over 130 years, dating back to when the first hot spring were discovered here in the Meiji era.
Established in 1963, our ryokan owns three hot spring water sources. The spring water is of high quality, and said to have many healing properties, allowing you to feel refreshed and revitalised during your trip.
There are various room types to choose from, such as rooms with private outdoor baths, Japanese suite rooms, barrier-free rooms, and Western-style rooms with beds.
Awara Onsen is easily accessible from Kanazawa, as well as from Kyoto and Osaka. It is a 15-minute drive to Tojinbo, a picturesque stretch of rocky coastline that is popular among visitors from both home and abroad.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility, and a free shuttle bus is provided from JR Awara Onsen Station.

These giant, pillar-shaped rocks are a unique geological formation that can only be seen in a couple of other spots in the world, and nowhere else in Japan. Formed of pyroxene andesite, the volcanic rocks are important from a geological point of view, and designated as a Japanese natural monument.

Please refrain from bringing in food or drinks purchased off site. There are drink vending machines available.

Check in is from 3:00pm - 7:00pm if a dinner course is included in your reservtaion package. (If you will arrive after 6:00pm, please contact us in advance.)
